Why the amazing Oldfield community is a truly great place to live.

Today we’re in the beautiful coastal neighborhood of Oldfield in Okatie, South Carolina. What’s it like living in this amazing community?

Okatie is about 25 minutes away from the historic Beaufort, only 20 minutes from Bluffton, and a 40-minute drive away from Hilton Head Island.

At the entrance to Oldfield is the greeter’s center, which serves as the community post office and general store. Just beyond that is the equestrian facilities. Members who own horses can board them at the facilities, plus they have a 60-foot pen and a full jumping course.

One of my favorite amenities in Oldfield is the outfitter’s center, which is right on the waters of the Okatie River. Inside, the first thing you’ll find is a full-time naturalist who will help you experience what it’s like to live in the low country. There’s also a bait and tackle shop with two full-time guides for all your inshore and offshore fishing needs. Oldfield even has reciprocity with one of the best sporting clay facilities in the low country, Turkey Hill.

“The setting is spectacular, and the River House itself is incredibly charming.

Right next to the outfitter’s center is the River House. This was the original house on the property before it was developed into a community. It has been completely restored and is now used for dining, private functions, and more. The setting is spectacular, and the building itself is incredibly charming.

Toward the center of the community is the clubhouse, which has the Magnolia Grill, the pro-shops, and the practice facilities. They even have an 18-hole, championship, Greg Norman-designed golf course—the only one of its kind in our area.

In the sports complex, you’ll find a complete gym, racket facilities, pickleball, basketball courts, and an indoor and outdoor pool. The real estate market in Oldfield is made of a few types of homes: single-family homes, riverfront cottages, golf cottages, and the lakeside village, which is their typical neighborhood design.

If you’d like more information on Oldfield or want to schedule a personal tour, call or email me. I’d love to help.
