I bumped into someone the other day who said, “Millennials don’t buy houses. They’re only interested in renting.” I would argue that this is an absolute myth. There are a couple of points about millennials that explain why I think this:

• They’ve put off major milestones like getting married and having kids for later in life. Both of these are directly related to buying a home. The National Association of Realtors stated that the average age for homebuyers is the highest it has been in over 40 years.

• Millennials are entering the market in full force. A graph of the growth of homeownership by age group shows that millennials are the fastest-growing group of homeowners. Here’s a more detailed report about this data.
