How Palmetto Running Company gets involved with the community.

We take pride in introducing you to local businesses, and today we are excited to tell you about Palmetto Running Company. Most people who go there know it as a retail store where they can buy running gear, but it is also so much more than that. We got together with co-owner Rob Fyfe to get all the information. 

The company was started back in 2011 and has since expanded twice. They are very involved in the community and have lots of activities for people to participate in. For example, there’s a running club that meets every Saturday morning, and they tie that in with other local businesses like coffee shops and bakeries. Also, they’ve hosted many races over the years, normally around 23 a year. They do these for charity and have raised over $500,000 in total.

Sustainability is very important to the Palmetto Running Company, and their eco-initiative is continually expanding. In addition, they are also very excited about their new app. Adding to the rewards you can get by shopping in their store, you can earn more by exercising and connecting the app to fitness trackers like Apple Fitness or Strava. Plus, you can get even more points by going to their events. The app can be found in most app stores, and it’s called “PRC Rewards”. 

As a result of all the community support they’ve gotten over the years, they have been able to add more to the store. Now they’re not just a fitness store, they also sell lifestyle products. Plus, they have an electronic sizing system with a 3D scanner to help you get the right fit for your running shoes. Rob credits this success to the community.
