Whether you're a buyer or seller in this hectic seller's market, hiring the right agent is crucial. Today we’ll take a closer look at what you should be looking for in a potential agent.

If you're a seller, your agent needs to have a plan in place to make sure you don’t leave any hard-earned equity on the table. It should include a marketing strategy that will create a frenzy of activity and demand around your property. They have to take full advantage of this tight market.

Your agent should also have a written plan on how they’re going to guide you through multiple-offer situations. If they don’t, it’s probably not the right agent for you.

The bottom line is that you should never settle for an agent that will simply put your home on the MLS.

If you’re a buyer in this market, losing out on your dream home is a reality because of such high demand. Having a great agent by your side is essential. Before you hire an agent, ask them questions such as:

  • Will I have priority access to listings when they hit the market?

  • What about off-market properties?

  • What are the terms of your buyer agency agreement?

“You should never settle for an agent who simply lists your home on the MLS.”
