Today we are in the design center for Shoreline Construction with Katie Dalzell and Molly Barrs, who are the interior designers who help Shoreline clients make their selections during the building process. We’re going to talk a little bit about some design trends they’re seeing, as well as the upcoming Parade of Homes.

This year’s Parade of Homes is on March 29-31 and there is actually a Shoreline house on the route. This property is gorgeous and has a lot of contemporary elements, from quartz countertops to floating shelves, and more. Quartz has actually gotten really popular among their clients lately. They want that marble feel without all of the maintenance.

Another big trend right now is the “floating” shelves, which allow you to have storage while still being able to display things.

Darker-colored walls give a more rich contrast.

One trend that Shoreline has been toying with is darker-colored walls and cabinets, which gives a more rich contrast to a space.
